ABOUT US

Youth Development is a key pillar under Athletics Kenya, dedicated to fostering the growth of young athletic talent and ensuring Kenya remains a dominant force in global athletics. Our primary focus is on identifying emerging talent, providing them with the necessary resources, and supporting their seamless transition to senior-level athletics. We aim to create a nurturing environment that helps these athletes realize their full potential and achieve success on the world stage.

Working closely with various stakeholders—including schools, regional institutions, the government, and corporate partners—we organize training camps, competitions, and mentorship programs to identify, support, and develop Kenya’s future athletic stars. The Youth Development department plays a central role in managing key initiatives such as the preparation and coordination of Team Kenya for international age-group competitions, including the World Under-18 and Under-20 Championships.

Our efforts have resulted in the rise of phenomenal young athletes, such as Faith Kipyegon, Edward Zakayo, Jackeline Chepkoech, and Beatrice Chebet, who have gone on to achieve tremendous success in global athletics. Through our commitment to the youth, we are proud to contribute to Kenya’s continuing legacy of excellence in the world of athletics.
